A little about me
I am an American, from Denver, Colorado, who lives in Austria. I moved here 6 years ago with my Austrian husband, and am ready to go back home. Life in small town Austria is bourgeois, mind boggling, and a bit annoying at times. Living here has caused me to go around the bend, as the name of blog suggests.
I live in small town Austria with My husband and our three American dogs (who will from time to time be guest bloggers). On a daily basis I deal with people who don't understand that staring and pointing is rude, who take the meaning of being reserved much, much too far, who want all things American (Geben Sie mir Levi, Kinoleinwand-Fernsehen, Hamburger, und Coca-Cola!), yet fight tooth and nail from becoming Americanized (which I would hate to see here), those that are utterly ignorant about Americans (of course we all own guns, have 3 cars, 6 televisions, 2 houses, a boat, and only shop on credit - phwah!), and those that don't quite seem to grasp that English is the universal language, and if they don't get their butts into gear, they will be left behind (like my current doctor). Honestly, it's enough to drive a person crazy.
I will be chronicling the things I deal with living here, the things I see, and various rants, raves and musings. There are some wonderful things about living here, but I am still ready to go home).
I hope you enjoy the ravings of a madwoman, lol!
